Cyprus: Ready-mix concrete companies have raised their prices by 5%, following a wage settlement with workers in December 2024. Phileleftheros News has reported that this will correspond to extra costs of €4/m3 for customers.

Construction industry representatives reportedly claim that the rise in prices exceeds that of labour costs for concrete producers.

Romania: Romcim, a subsidiary of Ireland-based CRH, has concluded a deal with BCC Agregate Betoane for the acquisition of two ready-mix concrete plants in Iași County. The Romania Journal newspaper has reported that the proposed acquisition is under review by Romania’s Competition Council.

Israel: Cemex has supplied concrete for the construction of the residential W Tower in Tel Aviv, including 3800m³ of ready-mix concrete in the building’s foundations. Noticias Financieras News has reported that Cemex developed a special concrete mix for use in the 156m-high building, and replaced conventional pumps and cranes with a third-floor fixed pump during construction.

US: Four former owners of Cajun Ready Mix Concrete have launched HRM Concrete, a new ready-mix concrete company in Baton Rouge. The company aims to become a Gulf Coast regional operator. Business Report News has reported that HRM Concrete currently operates three batching plants and 30 mixer trucks.

At the time of its acquisition by Switzerland-based Holcim in 2022, Cajun Ready Mix controlled eight plants and 51 trucks.
