UK: Cemex UK has carried out a contract for the supply of reduced-CO₂ concrete for the redevelopment of 20-storey mixed-use building 65 Crutched Friars in the City of London. The producer supplied 13,000m³ of lower-CO₂ concrete for the project, including 1000m³ of slipform slab pours. The concrete used in the slab pours comprised CEM II/A-L Portland limestone cement combined with 25% ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS). Contractor McAleer & Rushe Contracts UK selected Cemex’s concrete to help achieve a Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology (BREEAM) Outstanding rating for the project.
