UK: Heidelberg Materials subsidiary Marley has launched Edgemere 2.0, a concrete roof tile produced using Heidelberg Materials’ EvoZero reduced-CO2 cement. UK-produced EvoZero cement attains to its CO2 reduction through the transfer of Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs) from cement produced at the group’s Brevik cement plant in Norway. An installed carbon capture system at the plant prevents 50% of the plant’s CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere.
Heidelberg Materials UK is in the process of building a 95% carbon capture installation at the Padeswood cement plant in Flintshire, Wales.
